Dear Beth, I commend you for having a voice, to be able to make me and hopefully others reflect and think with your writings and knowledge. This is absolutely horrible what goes on in the church. I pray justice will be done, so healing of those involved can begin.

You are amazing.

Thanks Jane, but what needs to be done is a mass exit out of institutions that have allowed these types of individuals to hold positions of power. There needs to be an out cry from the pews. There needs to be overwhelming support for the families who are now dealing with the after affects of abuse.

And, yet I totally understand how the parishioners have been raised to follow and not question, to forgive and forget, to place 'judgement' in the hands of God, so that they themselves can take the easy ride of not having to get involved.

Well, while they are not involved, the little children are very involved....each year that passes, more and more children fall victim to sexual abuse.

However, the laws of the land, need victims voices. Victims to speak out. Victims to be brave and stop this insanity. Old victims, new victims, past victims, parents of victims....all need to use their voices.

Silence and prayer and forgiveness HAS Not stopped or changed a thing....it has actually kept the cycle flowing brilliantly.
